Generally fine, smooth. It tastes somewhat young overall, and the difference between this 12 year old and the much richer, more flavoury 15 year old is just striking, of course partly due to the longer sherry finishing in that one... fruchtig im Geruch und Geschmack, leichte Eichennote, top preis-leistungsverhältnis.

Look for the word sec in the French section, trocken in the German section and seco on the Italian wines. Go figure :-). It definitely is not overpowering but yet has a nut and fresh cut grass taste with a balanced drink. smooth and rounded, young wood. very easy to drink, not much of an after taste though. The nose and flavour profile carry reasonably good depth and complexity and it is just the short and uninspiring finish that lets this whisky down slightly, but there’s a reason it’s the most awarded and widely drunk scotch in the world! The mouth is very sweet but relatively coarse on the tongue.

nose is sweet floral after 5 minutes airtime. nice decent whiskey , sufficient complexity. I would say it's good everyday whisky - whisky that you can drink any day, any time. Italian wines in this category of sweetness may be indentified as dolce, German wines as lieblich, and French as moelleux. A good, everyday Speyside. It's an ideal "beginner's whisky" (in both ways: for the inexperienced newbies and for the more experienced and advanced drinkers to get the palate/evening started) , yet still very like-able as an easy dram. Glenfiddich is a classic scotch at a fantastic price. Typical speyside, fruity aroma, can almost taste the ocean. wel nog iets stug. Hard to believe it took 12 years to get to such an entry level scotch. smooth. it's light and approachable. Apple on the nose, vanilla on the palate. Easy drinking but not really my style - I prefer my whisky to have more definite sherry or smoky notes, whereas this scotch lurks squarely in the *safe* corner of the malt map.
