While its systems aren't necessarily as intuitive or simple as other tabletop RPGs, I really appreciate how Cyberpunk aims to mix action-packed storytelling with a realistic take on the sci-fi future. The Cyberpunk Red Jumpstart Kit is the perfect introduction to the newest edition of the classic Cyberpunk tabletop roleplaying game. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Until then, the Cyberpunk Red Jumpstart Kit is a starter set with everything you need to play the game: essential rules, customizable pregenerated characters, new world lore, some amazing dice made by Q Workshop, and more.
I'm excited for the full version of the game. I repeat my kudos to the game, but a lot of discussion speculates on which rules simplifications were only for the purposes of fitting a game into the Jumpstart Kit, and which are deliberate simplifications (compared to the old CP2020 of 30 years ago) which will be retained in the full big core rulebook. What I appreciate with all that is that the box is entirely self contained, meaning you won’t need any other books or reference materials to play. It also contains a full adventure scenario, which is very similar to the story we played when Pondsmith came to visit us last year, as well as several other “missions” that can be played as standalone encounters or linked together by a creative GM. ;).
I love this box. While the world-building and storytelling in the Jumpstart Kit are top-of-the-line, the underpinning combat systems are a bit barren. While not many details are known about that game’s storyline, fans have the unique opportunity to experience its world well ahead of time.

Polygon was given early access to the Cyberpunk Red Jumpstart Kit, a starter set from the universe’s original creators at R. Talsorian Games. These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Regardless of who you play as - or who your friends play as, if you’re the one running the game - your party will find itself with no shortage of activities (both legal and otherwise) to partake in. No one is forcing the people at the table to fall in love with these fictional neighbors, but the GM will certainly make them try.
Once back topside on the ground floor, Redeye and her team found that a heavily armed corporate strike team had showed up to block their escape. The revisions to the old rules seem to be almost universally for the better - at the very least, you won't be having game-ending arguments about how shotguns work anymore - and the decision to offer up the streamlined ruleset before the full book is a smart way to acclimate both newcomers and veterans.

I'm aware of the "devnotes" on R.Talsorian's site, but there is very VERY little info there about the game's actual mechanics or development. What if pockets of the world erupted with actual nuclear fire? The disruption of international trade and network communications makes it possibly the only record of its kind. I am a guy from brazil. But the only way through this onslaught was to let it into her head. Maybe. And can we have less Silverhand quotes in the full release? With the elevator doors open, a murky tide of algae-covered seawater rolled in around the party’s ankles. The biggest limitation of the Jumpstart Kit is that it doesn’t include the full rules for character customization, instead opting to present players with a set of pre-generated characters to choose from - though that honestly isn’t much of a problem at all, as there’s still plenty of variety available.
