For this bed, we’re permanently attaching the side rails to the headboard and footboard using corner braces. Position the rail against the leg so that its bottom edge rests on the line. Add two additional tongue and groove boards in the same way for a total of four boards. You don’t have to use a power miter box but that is the only power saw that I have.
I propped up the two sides on where I wanted them to be. I measured equal overhang on each side and cut this piece with my power miter box saw.
