I like it a lot as a lotion because it smells warm without being cloying and is one of the few scents on the skin that never turns synthetic. I agree with ConsumerThis, I would call this 50% caraway, 20% cedar, and 30% rose. i can never seem to find a rose scent that i like, and this fits the bill. I like it on me! This is for spice, vetiver and cedar lovers. I don't know why they named it rose since that's the least noticeable of all the notes. I don't get any rose out of this at all, just dry brittle woods. Le Labo Rose 31 Body Lotion lot of 2 each 3oz bottles. Period. I highly recommend. I have to say that there is a direct parallel between this and Royal Oud. Without any information about the notes, this is I what smelled: Real, poignant cloves; rose, vetiver, pepper, more spices, oud, and woody notes. Open this box up and you are greeted with 2 cards; first one explains the history of Le Labo, and the other is a birth certificate, bearing a check list on the side stamped with an "OK" label at each step in the brewing process. This is united with fresh, fruity fig and bay as well as cedarwood, vetiver and musk for a deep yet soft aroma, streaked with whispers of dry, leafy hay and tobacco to create something sumptuous and sensual. I prefer this to Santal 33 as it’s not as leathery and just easier to wear though has a hefty dose of sandalwood as well.
This opens up with a spicy-woodsy rose that reminds me of a good smelling body odor...as strangely as it sounds....!! This is very dry, earthy scent, with hardly any rose note detectable to my nose outside of a bit of a floral kick.

On me, it has low-medium sillage, and I don't amplify scents very well. Le Labo Eau de Parfum - Thé Noir 29, 50ml. One thing, out of all the rose scents that I've encountered, this one has to be the most natural but when the cedar arrives, it ruins the whole aura of the scent. smelled all the fragrances they had on display, this blew me away.
