Turn South and go 8 miles (across the NF of Stanislaus River) to Utica Reservoir turnoff (USFS Road 7N75). Fishing licenses required. Our 1-day fishing trips meet in Coloma at the American River Resort in front of the general store at 5:30a.m. Union Reservoir: From Pollack Pines, go on Highway 50 east for 42 miles to Spicer Reservoir Road (USFS Road 7N01). Minimum age is 7 years old and at least 55 pounds. We fill our day nymphing for wild rainbows and ripping streamers for aggressive brown trout. Clients will be exposed to one of California’s premiere rivers, and have the opportunity to catch fish in the same waters that sparked the Gold Rush. It is mainly stocked with medium sized hatchery trout and has considerable fishing pressure from bait-fishermen. It is the goal of Get Lost Fly Fishing to offer clients an enjoyable adventure on the river through the facet of fly fishing. It also supports a kokanee spawning run from Union Valley Reservoir. Both runs are rated class III suitable for rafters of all abilities.
