Medicine Trail is a progressive trail located off Horse Gulch Road; lined with rocks, it heads down and to your left and finishes up on the slab onto Horse Gulch Road.

To main trailhead:Vallecito Lake is located 18 miles northeast of Durango. Chapman Hill Flow and Jump Lines offer technical “bikepark-esque” features at the base of Chapman Hill. The Highland Mary Lakes trail is an exception, providing day hikers quick access to this alpine wonderland.



Lower Ed & Flo Trail is a fun downhill with tight switchbacks, banked turns and whoop-de-dos.

Brown’s Ridge is a moderate 0.6-mile trail that sees flowy lines and great views of the Durango area. Stacy’s is a moderate 1.05-mile loop in Horse Gulch that connects from Meadows and provides access to Mike’s Trail and Cuchillo Trail. Anasazi Descent is a technical one-way trail which starts at the top of Telegraph Trail. You can just catch it somewhere and walk to your heart's content, or you can make a plan to walk the whole 479 miles.

Goulding Creek Trail is a moderately difficult, 6-mile round-trip hike that climbs above Hermosa Cliffs near Tamarron Resort. With the donation of 12 acres, the city of Durango took one long-awaited step toward building a paved pedestrian trail to Three Springs. Bandito Trail is a short, moderate loop stacked inside the popular Meadow Loop of Horse Gulch.

Animas Mountain Inner Loop spurs from and parallels the east side of the Animas Mountain Trail for nearly 2 miles. Down n’ Out Trail is a 0.46-mile difficult connector trail between Raider Ridge (between Extended Ridge and Hyper Extended Ridge) and Horse Gulch Road.

Twin Buttes trail starts out with a steep, switchbacked climb out of the parking area, crosses an old road then climbs again through pinion and juniper.
