If you're a Romero purist who is willing to suspend belief in the idea that zombies can't run, just imagine this film is called "Plague of the Quick" or something, and enjoy the thrills.
The script was given to Mattei, who conspired to create a lighter version of Dawn of the Dead. "Dead Snow" is a relatively straightforward attempt to add a new angle to the genre without adding much of anything at all. Where is Part 2?! Despite taking place in a quiet, desolate England, 28 Days Later portrayed fast-moving zombies that ran towards their victims, viciously beat them up rather than bite them, and screeched with an animal-like, piercing howl.
