I don't know much about the VOD services as my TV through Telus is basic and internet is used more than anything. I've had issues with Shaw's PVR not recording shows properly and losing recordings - I don't know if Telus has the same issues. We just went with the Shaw 150 internet, Small TV package with no home phone = $100/month for 2 years. Ok... i'm locked into a 2-year contract but I'm ok with that. Shaw was always nice but there was just always something breaking so I gave up on them and haven't looked back. Finally, someone answers and they say you need residential. Bandwidth is RARELY the issue once you go over 50mbps. This includes to major points across Canada, the USA, and Europe. Save $15/mo. Telus has nodes too, they have to, that’s how it works. $45 + $13 = $60/mo - $150 Bill credit (~$75/mo savings) The difference is about 35 bucks/mo, but if Telus blows and Shaws speed is the way to go, I'm willing to pay the extra money. If it’s copper or fibre serviced will be the deciding factor. If it doesn't give you the information you need, save. Shaw only gets 20 mbps on upload and 300 mbps on download. Either way my games never have issues or streaming movies and stuff are never freezing but there prices are going up. You could also just simply check the wifi on your phone to see the networks around you, most of the time people don’t change their network names. I find this hard to believe as I live downtown Calgary and I believe telus uses the same wires in the wall as shaw would.
