Loads of sherry, hot, black pepper, something musky. A nice dram with a lot of traditional speyside notes. I confirm that I have read and agree to the below statement. It’s full of vibrant fruity character with that signature Glenfiddich note of marmalade and a long, satisfying finish. 2: the more traditional IPA craft beer, picked for it’s ability to imbue our oak casks with extra hoppy flavours. Better than the IPA, partially owing to the higher ABV and associated body improvement, but also the nice tobacco port note and red fruit complement it well. So I like… The winner was beer no. It was very fruity but the sour/bitter elements throughout didn’t mesh very well in my opinion and took away from the experience. Huge thank you to Beth for giving us a chance to try these two whiskies which were recently released at the LCBO. Many years ago, our Malt Master, David Stewart, realised that the traditional whisky making method could be pushed further and pioneered the process we now know as finishing. The whisky itself is a glorious golden colour, with a complex aroma and superb flavour. Spices, cumin, citrus, bready. Medium. The experiment resulted in the first single malt whisky ever finished in craft IPA casks.

Collaborating with a local Speyside craft brewer, Brian created a bold and zesty IPA craft beer to imbue our rich oak casks with extra hoppy notes. Complemented by the subtle tang of fresh hops followed by a long lasting sweetness. Search. Honey, strong fruit, peaches, citrus, vanilla, apple, raisin. Dry sherry notes, some tobacco smoke. Brewed in bespoke craft IPA barrels, this single malt expression is imbued with unique zesty citrus notes of ripe green apple, William’s pear and spring blossom. This is worth a buy to me as there are layers and it is very well done and a decent novelty that provides an interesting story.
