Stevie Parle has built a delicious, stylish all-day place in otherwise-unlovable North Greenwich. Staff and service was good.More. Something more refined is the 40-day rump cap with aged white soy sauce (£6). I thought the classic bao was okay, it wasn't as flavorful as I hoped but it was a nice balance of sweet and salty.

Baos were the highlight. Nothing special not very sour just tastes like unripen plum juice with added water. I checked out their menu before booking and it clearly showed both V (Vegetarian) options and VG (Vegan) options. When the food arrived, my son suggested that we check if the food items were fried in the same oil and in the same vat as the meat/fish products. The food : it was pretty good.
The sauce was really good. I could have eaten several more of these. The BAO was just what I expected it to be - trendy, overpriced Asian food for the masses. They recommended 2 bao per person + 3-4 other dishes to make a lunch but we just wanted to try some stuff then move on to another place. We did not know what to expect so the 2 of us shared 1 of each of 12 different things that appealed to us. Where the original Soho spot pushes the human rights definition of ‘cosy’ and Fitzrovia is all bar seating, this Borough location has everything you need. We ordered for take away and sat on public tables close by. The place is tiny, like 4-6 tables and countertop that seats an additional 12 people. It makes excited children of us.
Bao is one such place. We hadden de rundvlees noodle, sesamolie chicken noodle, gebraden kip en 2 baobao. There’s a row of counter stools for a quick beer and a bao. It deserved its renoun. The selection was small (not a bad thing). I would have liked more mapo sauce.
